SAT Original Poem 2
He was the one
by
Alex Campos
He loved her
and thought she loved him.
But he couldn't see the deception within.
He fought for her, but she didn't care.
If he were to die, she wouldn't shed a tear.
But once he was gone she would finally know
that all along
he was the one to hold.

SAT Original Poem 1
Love You More
by
Alexandra Campos
Iwould cry myself to sleep at night thinking of how you hated me so.
I'd drown myself in my tears hoping that you would rescue me.
I would wait up 'til all hours of the night hoping for your call.
I tried to replace that thing in my heart called love.
While people ripped my heart out, I would wonder if you would help me place it back in.
But instead you'd fill it up with ideas of hatred, destruction, death, and more.
Making me feel like I shoud hate you so...but really love you more.

My Free Verse Poem
Winter Poem
by
Nikki Giovanni
Once a snowflake fell
on my brow and I loved
it so much and I kissed
it and it was happy and called its cousins
and brothers and a web
of snow engulfed me then
I reached to love them all
and I squeezed them and they became
a spring rain and iI stood perfectly
still and was a flower.

My Epitaph Poem
AN EPITAPH
by
Walter de la Mare
Here lies a most beautiful lady,Light of step and heart was she:I think she was the most beautiful ladyThat ever was in the West Country. But beauty vanishes; beauty passes; However rare, rare it be;And when I crumble who shall rememberThis lady of the West Country?

My Sonnet Poem
Love (An Elizabethan Sonnet)
by
Justine Zaritsky
When gaze meets gaze and souls are thus exposed. And two hearts beat and syncopate as one; Is this the start of love’s true tale composed, Or just a transient moment soonest gone? If whispered words still echo in your heartAnd smiles are etched long after you have leftIs this a sign that love has made it’s mark Or just another failed romantic quest? For if my guarded heart should now revealMy love for you is more than you should know, A life without the love your kisses sealWould surely be a lifetime full of woe. If love can stir the senses each in turn, What fool would not chance love’s flame now to burn?

My Lyric Poem
Love Lyric
by
Lois Rougeaux
What is love? Love is a word. It is also devotion. It is pleasure, passion, and tenderness. Love knows no limits. Love is perfect, it is attachment. Love is special, it is heavenly it is kind, sympathetic. Love is joy, reason, feeling, sacrifice and serving. Love is to care Love keeps back all things. Love brings love. Love is a great gift. Without love there is no life; loving is living. Living is to walk the earth, be alive see the light.

My Ballad Poem
The Ballad of Marian Blacktree
by
Marian Blacktree
Refrain:Oh, do you know the mountain roadThat leads to yonder peak?A few will walk that trail alone,Their dreams they go to seek.
(1)One such was Marian Blacktree,A lowly sheperdess,And courting her was Tom, the swain,Who loved her nonetheless.
(2)A thought occurred to MarianWhile watching o'er her sheep,And gazing at the mountain thusShe nodded off to sleep.
(Refrain)
(3)That night she came to Tom and saidShe longed to know the sky."I'm weary of this valley, love,I want to learn to fly!"
(4)Poor Thomas did not want to leave,This valley was all he knew.So when she turned and left him thereHer heart, it broke in two.
(Refrain)
(5)Her faithful swain did track her, All night the trail led on, And finally at the mountain topHe looked, but she was gone.
(6)As morning broke and lit the skyAn eagle he did see:It circled 'round him thrice and cried. He knew now she was free.
(Refrain)
